Dr. Ryan Neeley, DO, is a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon in Chandler, Arizona, specializing exclusively in shoulder and elbow surgery and the care of sports medicine conditions. Dr. Neeley utilizes cutting-edge, evidence-based surgical techniques and the latest advancements in shoulder, elbow, and sports medicine to optimize outcomes and accelerate recovery.
His surgical expertise includes complex reconstruction, arthroplasty, and minimally invasive techniques. He performs procedures such as total and reverse shoulder arthroplasty, rotator cuff and labrum repair, superior capsule reconstruction, UCL repair and reconstruction, biceps and triceps repair, radial head replacement, and collateral ligament reconstruction. In addition, he has extensive experience caring for high-level athletes at all levels, providing advanced sports medicine care.
Dr. Neeley earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Midwestern University in Glendale, Arizona, and completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Ohio University Doctors Hospital. He pursued advanced fellowship training in shoulder and elbow surgery under world-renowned surgeons Dr. Mark Frankle and Dr. Mark Mighell at the Florida Orthopedic Institute, where he gained expertise in complex reconstruction, arthroplasty, and minimally invasive techniques.
His practice is grounded in clinical excellence, patient education, and shared decision-making, ensuring each treatment plan is tailored to the patient’s individual goals and lifestyle. Dr. Neeley believes that education is a vital part of healing. By taking the time to explain each diagnosis, outline treatment options, and share the evidence behind them, he helps patients make confident, informed decisions about their care.
Dr. Neeley remains actively involved in research, medical education, and the development of innovative surgical techniques and implants. He regularly contributes to academic writing, lectures for professional organizations, and collaborates on design and outcomes research to advance the field of shoulder and elbow surgery. He serves as a reviewer for the Journal of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery and has authored multiple peer-reviewed publications. His research has focused on surgical techniques and outcomes in shoulder and elbow surgery, and he has presented at national meetings on topics such as arthroplasty and sports-related injuries.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Neeley enjoys spending time with his wife and three children, coaching and playing sports, staying active, scuba diving, and spending time at the ocean. He also enjoys exploring new destinations through travel.
